Just In: FT: Chester 2 Grimsby 2

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 14/03/2015 14:50

Town started with no chances, and John-Lewis was not even on the bench.

Grimsby took the lead with some great interplay, which Palmer finished off to make the score 1-0 to Grimsby.

Pittman broke throw clear and seemed to have got the ball over the line but Worsnop managed to get a hand to the ball to deny Town a second.

Town scored the second when Arnold's powerful shot was saved and Pittmand reacted first to tap in the rebound.

Town brought on Parslow for a striker to strengthen the defence and Chester almost immediately pulled a goal back.

Robertson then pressed the self destruct button and stuck his leg out to bring down Hughes. Rooney took the penalty and scored.

Jolley then came on and Pittman's cross to him should have resulted in a Town winner but the 'keeper saved his effort.

Both sides had late chances to win but neither took them. The subsitution change everything as Chester came back to claim a point in a match which Grimsby totally dominated.
