TOWN continued their fine form at Blundell Park with a fourth consecutive home victory in the league. A Wes Thomas striker in either half was enough to see off the challenge of Swindon, who equalised soon after Thomas's first-half penalty.

Michael Jolley retained the same starting line-up that were unfortunate to lose at Cheltenham. Town started brightly again and Thomas and Pringle both threatened with early chances.

Grimsby were gifted a penalty when Sid Nelson handled the ball just inside of the box and the ref pointed to the spot. Vigouroux got a hand to Thomas's spot-kick but just failed to stop it going in.

The lead lasted only a few minutes as Taylor hit an unstoppable free-kick past McKeown to level the game.

Both sides had chances in the remainder of the first half but neither side came close to going in front before halftime.

McKeown made another excellent close-range save to deny Adebayo early in the second half, and shortly afterwards Town went in front again. Embleton took a pot-shot from long range which the 'keeper parried but Thomas reacted quickest to expertly guide the rebound into the net for his second goal.

Embleton tested the 'keeper again from a long-range strike, and McKeown once again made a good save after Adebayo broke clear of Town's defence.

Grimsby negotiated the remaining time with few scares to send the home supporters homewards happy once again. The Mariners face the rejuvenated Notts County next at Blundell Park in what will be another difficult challenge.
